Thirty films including one Bangladeshi film will be screened today, on the third day of ongoing Dhaka International Film Festival at different venues across the capital.
The films cover six categories -“Retrospective,” “Cinema of the World,” “Children’s Film, “Women Filmmakers,” “Short and Independent Films Section,” and “Spiritual Films Section.” The festival features a competition in three categories- Asian and Australian and those of the six segments.
Five films will be screened today at the main auditorium of National Museum from 10am to 9pm in the “Cinema of the World” and “Retrospective and Tribute” categories–My Dog Killer at 10:30am, Paani at 1pm, Spaghetti Story at 3pm, Dancing In The Dust at 5:30pm and Beautiful City at 7:30pm.
Nine foreign films from Short and Independent and Spiritual Section will be screened at the Sufia Kamal Auditorium from 10:30am to 9pm. These are Cinta Tapi Beda (Love in a Different Way) at 10:30am, Total Psychosis, and The Korean Dream from 1pm to 3pm, Between Two Worlds and Sikhs In Shep from 3pm to 5:30pm, Mohamed And The Fisherman, and The Long Farewell from 3pm to 5:30pm, The Sealed Secret at 5:30pm, Adjustment, Body and Soul, and Being With Apu from 7:30pm to 9pm.
From three sections, Australasian Competition, Woman Filmmaker, and Children Section, five films will be screened at the Public Library auditorium - The Rooster Trademark Paper at 10am, Irma Vep at 1pm, Dancing In The Dust at 3pm, Forgive Me at 5:30pm and Trapped at 7:30pm.
In the Australasian Competition category, four films including a Bangladeshi one will be screened at the Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, Udhao (Escape is not an Opinion) at 10am, Where is the Land at 12pm, Ekstra at 3pm and Innocents at 5pm.
Seven films will be screened from the Woman Filmmaker category at EMK Centre– Until When, and Let Them Eat Cake from 10am to 12pm, Ekti Choto Chobi, and Afghan Women Behind The Wheel from 12pm to 3pm, De Tu Ventana A La Mia at 3pm and Two Girls Against the Rain, and Salma at 5pm.
