The bodies of three youths were recovered from both sides of Dhaka-Chittagong highway in the Boro Dorjer Hat area under under Mirersarai upazila early on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Arafatullah, 35, Kafil Uddin, 36, and Forkan, 22, of Banshkhali upazila.
Jorarganj Highway police outpost Officer-In-Charge Mehedi Hasan told the Dhaka Tribune: “The highway police found those bodies along with a twisted motorbike from both sides of the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway around 2:30am.
Later, police received confirmation on their identities by their ID cards and mobile phones and handed their bodies over to family members,” he added.
Mehedi said: “Police suspect that their motorbike might have been hit by any heavy vehicles on Thursday night, leaving them dead on the spot.”
In another incident, a housewife was killed when a speeding truck rammed her at Chittagon's Majhirgaht area in the morning.
The victim, Popi Begum, 18, was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in critical condition where she succumbed to her injuries at 9:30am while undergoing treatment.
