Rail communications on the Kishoreganj-Dhaka route has been resumed on Wednesday after nearly 12 hours, following the derailment of a locomotive.
Kishoreganj Railway Station Master Jayanta Majumder said the rail communications was resumed after a rescue train removed the derailed train off track around 3:30pm.
Earlier, the engine of the Chittagong-bound 'Nasirabad Express' derailed as the opposition activists removed several fishplates on the last day of the BNP called 60-hour hartal.
Railway has been the target for saboteurs during recent agitation of the BNP-led 18-party over the 10th parliamentary elections in the country.
