The BNP will soon realise the act of foolishness they have displayed by boycotting the 10th parliamentary polls held on Sunday.
Awami League Presidium Member and Communications Minister Obadul Quader came up with the above comment during the party’s extended meeting at its Bangabandhu Avenue central offices on Tuesday noon.
“There is no scope of rescheduling the 10th parliamentary polls,” Quader said, adding: “Now, the schedule for the 11th parliamentary elections will be announced and for this, discussions may be held with the BNP, but before dialogue the BNP must avoid violence, otherwise the government will be bound to take harsh steps against them.”
The AL extended meeting was held to seek out ways to make the party rally scheduled for January 10 at the capital’s Surawardhi Uddyan a success.
Senior AL leaders were present in the meeting.
