A human haulier driver got burn injuries as miscreants hurled petrol bomb at his vehicle in the port city’s Polytechnic Mor area last night.
The injured, Mohammad Mridul, 22, was admitted to Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of Chittagong Medical College Hospital. According to the doctors, 60% of his body was burnt, said Sub-Inspector Jahirul Islam, in-charge of CMCH police outpost.
Quoting the victim, the police official said some people hurled a petrol bomb to his vehicle around 9:45pm, leaving him critically injured. Later, he was rushed to CMCH by the local people, said the SI.
Shah Mohammad Abdu Rouf, assistant commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, said the blockade and hartal supporters might have conducted the attack and police were investigating into the matter.
