Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad avoided journalists’ queries on the percentage of voting turnout of the 10th parliamentary polls held on Sunday.
The CEC was briefing the general media at the Election Commission Secretariat on Monday evening.
When asked about the percentage of voter turnout, Rakibuddin Ahmad left the press conference without replying.
“The commission has not yet received the results from a handful of constituencies. It will take a couple of days.” said the CEC.
He said: “The local authority [returning officer] would decide when the polls on the suspended centres to be taken.
We need to set up alternative polling centres for the ones damaged.”
