Rich got richer, poor poorer in 2013

The total net worth of the world’s 300 richest individuals raised $524 billion in 2013, Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Income inequality has becoming the highest around the world, on US it raised to a level unseen since 1928. The country has almost 50 million inhabitants living under poverty line, nearly one fourth of the adult people.

“The rich will keep getting richer in 2014,” John Catsimatidis, the billionaire founder of real estate and energy conglomerate Red Apple Group Inc., said in a telephone interview from his New York office. “Interest rates will remain low, equity markets will keep rising, and the economy will grow at less than 2 percent.”

Microsoft founder Bill Gates, 58, had the best year, with his fortune increasing by $15.8 billion to $78.5 billion most other countries of the world has worse situation with income inequality metrics.
