Amid the political tumultuous situation of the country, with the blank shadow of violence and terrorism, the New Year has seen a glimpse of light. Divine joy of the children has illuminated ray of hope.
First day of the New Year is celebrated with the massive number of free text books being distributed to school children.
This year, a total of 299,675,938 textbooks will be distributed among approximately 37,336,672 crore students attending primary, secondary, ebtedai (primary level of madrasa), dakhil (secondary level of madrasa) and vocational classes in the 2014 academic session.
In addition, the government will distribute education materials among over two crore pre-school students in 51,000 schools across the country.
Over the last 5 years 1,213,871,172 copies of textbook is distributed to school going children.
