A delegation of Election Commission that included all the Election Commissioners is set to meet the President, Abdul Hamid, on Thursday to inform him about the 10th general elections preparation.
Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed made the discloser while talking to journalists at his EC office on Wednesday.
He said: “A team of Election Commission included all the Election Commissioners will meet the president at Bangabhaban around 3:30pm to inform him about the elections preparation.”
Regarding the elections campaign run by the candidates, he said: “All candidates were asked to stop their elections campaign 48-hour before the polls day.”
Earlier, on November 19, a team of the EC led by Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad met President Abdul Hamid to seek his advice on announcing the polls schedule.
The EC informed the president of their overall preparation for the elections. They also discussed the law and order situation and requested the president to deploy the army after the announcement of the polls schedule.
