10 BNP-Jamaat men arrested in Jhenaidah

Ten activists of the opposition BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami were arrested from Kailganj upazila, Jhenaidah in an overnight drive.

The arrests were made in a raid of the joint forces through Sundarpur village overnight ahead of Wednesday, police said.

Kaliganj police Officer-in-Charge endorsed the information. District Additional Superintendent Mohammad Hasanuzzaman led the drive, he said.

The detained were shown arrested in recent violence cases including arson in the area.

The joint forces have been formed in combination of paramilitary Border Guard Battalion (BGB), elite force Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and police.

The joint forces are currently cracking down on areas listed “vulnerable” inside the country in view of the prevailing situation of the country.
