2013, a happening year for TV celebs

This year was full of drama serials, single-episode plays and telefilms on the small screen and the TV stars had a very busy year. 2013 was bursting with many new talents in the fields of directing, acting, modeling and more.

Most of these actors and actresses worked on a great number of ventures, but, very few quality productions were seen. We present here some of the TV celebrities who strengthened their positions in the acting world by working on a few good productions that added a different dimension to their careers and also made a positive impact on small screen audiences.

Popular actor Mahfuz Ahmed’s popularity on the television screen has never been unstable. Last Eid-ul-Fitr, he acted in a single episode drama, Dure Jabo Bole, which was about the sacrifices one needs to make due to poverty. The telefilm, Adharer Obosha, which he also wrote and directed, highlighted a business tycoon’s personal life. Mahfuz Ahmed’s new drama series, Buno Chaltar Gaye, where he works simultaneously as a director and actor, has also been able to keep fans enthralled.

Talented actor Shatabdi Wadud has worked in Jayanta Rozario’s Caught Behind, SM Sumon’s Love and Life, Ferary Farhad’s Story, and many more. After successfully playing a multitude of versatile characters, he elevated the expectations of his audience and kept them spellbound.  His mind-blowing acting on Oporadh Bishoyok Golpo was also commendable.

The popular actor of Bangladeshi showbiz, Apurbo, demonstrated his singing talents at a charitable show, the Bangladesh Australia Friendship Fair at Sydney, earlier this year. He lent his voice to a title track of the drama series Bhalobashar Chotushkon.  He is working on his silver screen debut as an action hero in Ashikur Rahman’s upcoming film Gangstar.

Bidya Sinha Saha Mim has become an unstoppable force in the media. Mim was one of the busiest actresses of the small screen this year. In the telefilm Trump Card, by Mizanur Rahman, she played a negative role which was appreciated by critics. Beside this, she has been busy shooting several films.

Zakia Bari Momo has already made a place within the hearts of thousands of fans with her acting skills and simple elegance. Momo was involved in different dimensional dramas this year, namely Nilpory

Nilanjna, directed by Shihab Shahin, Mayti Kotha Bolibe Kintu Prem Koribe Na directed by Salauddin Lavlu, Ezaz Munna’s Kobirajer Bouer Akjon Chele Bondhu Chilo, Eclipse directed by Mabrur Rashid Banna, Jockey by Kaiser Ahmed and many others. She also lent her voice to the title track of a drama series.

By overcoming all the previous controversies that made her absent from the media for about two years, the glamorous and talented actor of the small screen, Prova, once again reinforced her position in showbiz this year. She made a mark by working on a single episode drama, Motinuddin Je Karone Dhaka Eshechhilo, and the drama series Aparajita. She paired up with veteran actor Tariq Anam Khan for the first time in a single-episode drama titled Wheel Chair-er Joddha.
