Three people, including a woman and her son, were killed when a bus collided head on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Gazipur on Sunday morning.
At least three others were injured in the crash that took place in the south Salna area of the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 8:15am, police said.
The deceased were: Uzzal (28), son of Saiful Islam, Josna Begum (28), wife of Habibur Rahman and her seven-year-old son Rafiz of Baliapara village – all from Mymensingh.
Tapan Kani Sarker, resident medical officer at Gazipur Sadar Hospital, declared the trio dead after they were rushed there.
The injured were: Emdadul Haque, Jahirul Islam and her husband Habibur Rahman. Critically injured Habibur Rahman was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Gazipur highway police outpost Sargent Iqbal Hossain endorsed the information. He suspected that the accident might have been caused due to heavy fog.
