A fire broke out at the storeroom of a sweater factory in Jamgora arra in Ashulia yesterday morning, gutting ready garments, raw materials and equipment.
Confirming the incident, Badrul Alam, officer-in-charge of Ashulia police station, said the blaze had started around 7:45am at the storeroom situated on the sixth floor of Japan-Bangla Garments building and soon the fire engulfed the other rooms of the floor.
But reason behind the fire incident could not be known immediately.
On receiving information, fire fighters’ units from Ashulia, Kaliakoir and Savar rushed to the spot and doused the flame around 8:45am after frantic efforts, he added.
The OC said no one sustained injuries in the fire incident.
The extent of damage also could not be known immediately.
