Two deputy commissioners were withdrawn according to directive of the Election Commission on Thursday weeks ahead of the January 5 elections.
The public administration ministry appointed two new commissioners to those districts – Habiganj and Brahmanbaria, separate orders dated on Tuesday said.
However, on Tuesday, senior secretary to the ministry, Abdus Sobhan Sikder, said they were yet to receive any formal order regarding this issue.
The order was issued on Thursday.
Manindra Kishore Majumder was replaced with Jainal Abedin, deputy secretary of the cabinet division, for the new deputy commissioner of Habiganj.
Nur Mohammad was replaced with Mosharraf Hossain, deputy secretary to the public administration ministry, as the new deputy commissioner to Brahmanbaria.
According to the public administration ministry, the new deputy commissioners have already joined work.
However, the outgoing commissioners were yet to receive any new appointments.
