Nagorik to pay tribute to late Khaled Khan

Nagorik Natya Sampradaya will hold a commemorative programme today evening at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in homage to the troupe’s senior member Khaled Khan, who recently passed away.

The eminent cultural personality’s untimely death plunged not only his family, but also his fans, colleagues and thousands of admirers into deep grief.

Khaled Khan joined Nagorik Natya Sampradaya in 1978. His extraordinary acting in theatre productions such as Dewan Gazir Kissa, Nurul Diner Sara Jibon, Galileo, Roktokorobi and Dorpon will be remembered for years.

He acted in over 30 plays for Nagorik and directed over 10.

The troupe’s chief Ataur Rahman informed the Dhaka Tribune that they would hold a discussion session where senior theatre activists from different troupes will talk about various aspects of the extraordinarily talented artist’s life and work. The programme will also feature music, recitation and a photo projection presenting significant moments of Khan in the theatre.
