Five vehicles were set ablaze in Bogra during the third day of the countrywide blockade, enforced by the BNP-led opposition alliance, on Monday.
Miscreants hurled a petrol bomb and set two BRTC buses on fire in presence of policemen near Satmatha intersection at around 10:10am.
Bogra Sadar police Sub-Inspector Gulabahar said they have heard about the incident.
He added: “We have sent reinforcements to the spot.”
Besides, three goods-laden trucks were set on fire in Fatki Bridge area in Shajahanpur in the afternoon.
The activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir admitted their responsibility for arson attack to the local journalists.
Contacted, Shajanpur police station Officer-in-Charge Mahmudul Alam confirmed the blazing incident.
