Train communication on Lalmonirhat-Burimari route resumed on Tuesday afterJamaat-e-Islami and ChhatraShibir activists removed fishplates of the railway track spread over some 100 in Bawra and Awliarhat areas of Patgramupazila.
Our Correspondent reports, the railway communications were restored around 2:50pm on Tuesday.
Sazzad Hossain, emergency officer of train control room in Lalmonirhat Railway Division, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said the miscreants stopped a running train and removed the fishplates, suspending the railway communication around 5am.
The blockade supporters had also put timbers on the rail line in different areas to block the train communication.
Quoting witnesses, Lalmonirhat Railway GRP police station Officer-in-charge ShamsulAlam said Jamaat-Shibir activists removed railway fishplates and put blockade at some points on the route.
