The execution of war criminal Abdul Quader Molla proves that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina keeps her word, Syed Ashraful Islam said Saturday.
The Awami League general secretary made the comment after the party paid their respect at a memorial marking the martyred intellectuals’ day.
“Many were skeptic of the trials of war criminals. They said the verdicts were uncertain after trials. After that they said the execution was doubtful,” he said.
“But the execution of Abdul Quader Molla proved that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina keeps her word,” he added.
“Hopefully, more verdicts of the war criminals will be carried out in the future,” he told journalists.
The execution of “Butcher of Mirpur,” Jamaat-e-Islami leader Quader Molla added new dimensions to the martyred intellectuals’ day this year.
