Convicted war criminal Abdul Quader Molla cannot be hanged till the defence receives the full copy of the order on review petition hearing, claimed the defence counsel.
He made the claim while speaking to journalists after the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court rejected Quader Molla's plea of filing review petition on Thursday.
Defence lawyer Khondoker Mahbub Hossain said: “The jail authorities would not be able to executive the verdict till we receive the full copy of the order.”
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam had said there was no need for the copy of order to reach the hands of the jail authorities as the Supreme Court did not give any observations in the verdict.
“They can executive the verdict now,” he added.
On Wednesday Khondoker Mahbub Hossain begun Molla’s review petition hearing who was later accompanied by Abdur Razzak, the chief defense counsel.
Earlier on Tuesday, Defence counsel chief Abdur Razzak, Tajul Islam and Khondoker Mahbub Hossain were in a meeting with the chamber judge around 8:30pm.
