Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Quader Molla is set to file a review petition challenging the High Court verdict that has sentenced the leader to death within the next 30 days.
Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Abdul Razzak, also chief defence counsel, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
The announcement came soon after the Supreme Court released the full text for the verdict in the appeals case file challenging the life-term sentence of International Crimes Tribunal verdict, delivered on February 5.
According to rules, the review petition has to be filed within 30 days after the full verdict is published.
Earlier on September 17, a Supreme Court bench pronounced the verdict that sentenced Quader Molla to death after increasing the life-term jail.
The court gave Molla the death penalty by a majority, as one of the five judges, even though finding Molla guilty, was against capital punishment.
