PM’s new advisers given portfolios

The four newly-appointed advisers to the prime minister were handed their portfolios yesterday as Jatiya Party chief HM Ershad ordered his party leaders to resign from the polls-time government. Jatiya Party Presidium Member Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu has been given the office of the education and women development affairs. Earlier, he was given the assignment to oversee the health and women development affairs.

Jatiya Party President Anwar Hossain Manju has been given the assignment to oversee the shipping and post and telecommunications ministries.

Shafique Ahmed got the assignment of oversee the law and justice affairs ministry, while Dilip Barua got agriculture, industry and social welfare ministries.

Earlier yesterday, Ershad ordered his party leaders to resign from the polls-time cabinet as his party will not participate in the next general election without participation of all the political parties.
