Miscreants hurled two crude bombs targeting the residence of Jahangirnagar University Teacher’s Association (JUTA) President Ajit Kumar Mazumder on Wednesday night.
Our Correspondent reports that two crude bombs were hurled at the residence around 8:15pm.
Earlier, Ajit Kumar Mazumder had twice received a death threat by text message.
University Proctor Mujibur Rahman termed the act a university administration failure, as the university did not increase security after Ajit was earlier given death threats.
Ashulia police station Officer-in Charge Bodirul Alam said the crude bombs were hurled from outside the house.
Ajit accused university Vice-Chancellor Professor Anwar Hossainof perpetrating the act.
Meanwhile, university students have gathered in front of the vice-chancellor’s residence in protest at the incident.
