The visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh on Wednesday said India wanted the upcoming election to be held with the participation of highest number of political parties.
She made the statement while having an interaction with a selected group of media people at a hotel in the capital on Wednesday.
Responding to a query, she said: “Any election should be held with the participation of maximum political parties.”
She said India wanted to see a result that would be acceptable to the Bangladeshi people.
Quoting Sujatha, a journalist who attended the interaction meeting, said: “India would like to see participation of as many parties as possible.”
Reazuddin Ahmed of News Today, Zahirul Alam of NTV, Manjurul Islam Bulbul of Boishaki TV, were among those attended the meeting.
