2 killed in Chandpur clash

Two persons were killed and several others injured in a clash between the blockade supporters and police in Kalibari of Chandpur on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Ratan and Siam.

Dr Ruhul Amin, duty doctor of Chandpur sadar hospital, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the deaths.

"Bullet wounds were found on Ratan's head and Siam's chest," said the doctor.

Mahbub Morshed, officer-in-charge of Chandpur Model police station, said the supporters of blockade exploded crude bombs from a procession around 10:30am.

"The blockaders hurled brick to police members. In retaliation police opened fire on the opposition activists," said the OC.
