A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed after he fell on the street from his vehicle while being chased by blockade supporters in Jutemill Gate area of Bhabani Place in the district on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Ismail, 40, from Rangunia upazila.
Rangunia police station Officer-in-Charge Waliullah Oli said: “The driver fell on the street from his auto-rickshaw while being chased by the blockaders around 10:30pm.”
Another auto-rickshaw ran over him while coming from the opposite direction, leaving him seriously injured, he added.
Later, the injured driver died on his way to the Upazila Health Complex around 11pm, informed the OC.
