Bangladesh Seiko Electronic Products Company Ltd is going to set up an industry of electrical and mechanical parts in Mongla export processing zone.
An agreement has been signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Bangladesh Seiko Electronic Products in Dhaka yesterday at BEPZA Complex in Dhaka.
According to the agreement, the fully foreign owned Japanese company will invest $1.02m for setting up their plant with annual production capacity of 2.5m pieces of hair spring and inductor coil.
The plant is expected to create employments for 33 Bangladeshi nationals, said a press release.
Sayed Nurul Islam, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Hisashi Miyazawa, Managing Director of Bangladesh Seiko Electronic Products signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BEPZA executive chairman Major General Md Habibur Rahman Khan ndc psc, member (engineering) Khandakar Aktaruzzaman, member (finance) AKM Mahbubur Rahman, secretary Md Shawkat Nabi, general manager (public relations) Nazma Binte Alamgir, Bangladesh Seiko Electronic’s director (corporate sales and marketing) Tsuge Naoko and general manager (human resources) FHM Shamsuzzaman Shaams were also present at the signing ceremony.
