On Thursday state minister for Home Shamsul Haque Tuku ordered the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendent of Police to ensure the security of the Railways during the countrywide blockade.
He explained the matter while talking to a correspondent of the Dhaka Tribune at his office in the capital during the afternoon.
He said: “Border Guard Bangladesh personnel have been asked to go wherever necessary to ensure the security of the railway network.”
He claimed that the miscreants were purposely targeting the railway as its network is spread all over the country.
He said Ansar would also help them in insuring security where necessary.
Train communications were disrupted across the country because of sabotage carried out by opposition activists during the blockade hours.
