Crude bomb blaster among 10 injured

Ten people were injured as crude bombs were set off at Chankharpul in Bakshibazar area of Dhaka on the second day of the countrywide blockade.

Seven crude bombs were set off on Wednesday evening, marking the second day of the blockade, soon after the BNP-led 18 party alliance extended the originally 48-hour blockade to a 60-hour one.

Deputy Commissioner of Ramna Maruf Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune the incident took place around 5:30pm. One of the people who set off the crude bomb was injured in the incident and was beaten up by a mob following the blast.

Maruf said, on notice, police rushed to the scene and rescued the ten injured people. They are now undergoing medication at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Later on Wednesday evening, BNP and 18 party alliance extended  the two day blockade 24 hours more. More than 7 people died and numerous were injured over the last two days during the blockade.
