A six-member delegation of former advisors to previous caretaker governments and constitution experts arrived at Bangabhaban to meet President Abdul Hamid Sunday evening.
The meeting is in view of the current political deadlock with main opposition BNP waging agitation after polls-schedule was announced out of line with their demand.
The meeting is set to be held around 6:30pm.
Sultana Kamal, Kamal Hossain and Akbar Ali Khan entered Bangabhaban premises in one car at 6:12pm, Dhaka Tribune Reporter Muhammad Zahidul Islam said from scene.
Another car carrying Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, Shadheen Malik and Badiul Alam Majumdar followed.
Earlier, Sultana Kamal said the appointment was made upon request of Kamal Hossain. “The president is our guardian. We expect his role in the current crisis.”
Polls-schedule was announced Monday. Hours afterwards, BNP rejected the schedule and called a nationwide 48-hour blockade.
