An eight-member Bangladesh weightlifting team, including three players, left Dhaka for Malaysia yesterday to take part in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship, which gets underway today.
The team consists of three weightlifters - Bidyut Kumar Roy, Mabia Akter Shimanta and Reshmi Akter – as well as coach Shahria Sultana Shuchi and four other federation official. Considering their recent performance, Bangladesh is looking to Shimanta and Reshmi to win a medal in the tournament, which ends on November 30.
