Police filed a charge sheet against 26, including Jamaat-e Islami district leader Ameer Mohammad Shahabuddin, for their alleged involvement in attacking police in Bogra’s Satmatha area upazila during unrest in March.
Bogra Sadar police station Sub-Inspector Saidul Islam filed the charge sheet recently.
The charge sheet was filed under Special Power Act 1974 and Explosive Act 1908. The unrest centered on a rumour regarding Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee’s image being visible in the moon on March 3.
Earlier on November 7, police filed a charge sheet against 23 members of the BNP, Jamaat-e Islami and Chhatra Shibir for their alleged involvement in torching Bogra railway station and destroying properties in Bogra’s Gabtali Ar Kahalu upazila during unrest in March.
