2 non-cadre officials made secretaries

The government on Tuesday has promoted two non-cadre senior assistant secretaries to the rank of secretary.

The public administration ministry on Tuesday issued an order in this regard.

The newly promoted deputy secretaries are: Rawshan Ara Aktar of planning division and Anwar Hossain of the legislative and parliamentary division of the law ministry.

According to the public administration ministry sources, the two officers started their job as office assistants. Earlier, they were promoted as administrative officers, assistant secretaries and then senior assistant secretaries.

There are reserved posts of deputy secretaries for the non-cadre officials in the secretariat.

However, most of the non-cadre officials miss the chance to be promoted as deputy secretary because of an established age limit and academic background.

All of the posts of deputy secretaries are now filled with cadre officials, the source confirmed.

Earlier on Monday, four additional secretaries who were working as acting secretaries were promoted to secretaries.
