Bangladesh Navy sprinter Kazi Imran set a new record in the Inter-Service Athletics 100metre sprint at the Army stadium yesterday as he clocked 10.25 seconds to grab the gold medal.
Imran broke the former record of Army athlete Mohon Khan of 10.71 seconds, whileMohon finished third behind second placed the Army’s Shariful Islam who clocked 10.50 seconds.
Meanwhile, Army athlete Mujibur Rahman clinched gold in the 110metre hurdles event with a time of 14.28 seconds, while Masud Khan of the Navy and Hafizur Rahman of Army claimed silver and bronze respectively.
Bangladesh Army dominated the meet that concluded yesterday with 14 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze. Bangladesh Navy placed second with 7 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze while Air Force finished third with one gold, two silver and five bronze.
