Deputy commissioners reshuffled in 5 districts

The government on Monday issued separate transfer orders to reshuffle the offices of deputy commissioners of the field-level administration in five districts.

The public administration ministry issued the orders despite the ministry’s Senior Secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikdar told the Dhaka Tribune earlier last week that the government would not reshuffle the field-level administration.

The transferred commissioners were of Bhola, Noakhali, Nilphamari, Jamalpur and Munshiganj districts.

According to the ministry order, Khandakar Mostafizur Rahman, DC of Bhola, has been transferred to Noakhali to assume the same post.

ADC of Lalmonirhat Deputy Secretary Zakir Hossain has been appointed as the DC of Bhola, BMET’s Director Mohammad Mohsin Chowdhury as DC of Jamalpur, Personal Secretary of state minister for Liberation War Selim Reza as DC of Nilphamari and Deputy Director of Sylhet Local Government Division Md Shahabuddin has been appointed as the DC of Munshiganj.

Meanwhile, DC of Noakhali Sohel Imam Khan was made the director of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre while the DC of Nilphamari SM Mahfuzul Haque was transferred to the Information and Communications Technology Department as the director.

Furthermore, the DC of Munshiganj Shaiful Hasan Badol has been made the director of Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) and the DC of Jamalpur Delwar Haider was transferred to the shipping ministry as deputy secretary.

The order would take immediate effect, added the notice.

Earlier, the ministry had also transferred a number of additional deputy commissioners (ADC) and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNO) in the last two months.
