President Abdul Hamid on Sunday unveiled a memorial book with writings on the late President Zillur Rahman at Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban, reports UNB.
The book, titled “Zillur Rahman Smarok Grantho (Memorial book),” is being published by Jatiya Samannita Unnayan Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, the President said the late President Zillur Rahman had worked for the welfare of the entire nation throughout his life.
“He (Zillur) stuck to the same ideology throughout his whole life. He had all the qualities which a politician should have. He was incomparable in his courage, morality and loyalty. The nation will remember him forever for his noble deeds,” Hamid observed.
He also said Zillur Rahman had played a unique role in many transitional periods of the nation to overcome the situation through his merit, knowledge and wisdom.
“The late President Zillur Rahman will live through his deeds and his ideals. He is with us no more but his acts will remain embedded within the spirit of this nation. Zillur Rahman is a source of inspiration to any future politicians of the country,” he added.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith and Jatiya Samannita Unnayan Foundation president Khandokar Asaduzzaman MP also addressed the programme.
