Ministers ready to leave official residences

Ministers and state ministers are preparing to leave their official residences where they have been living for the last five years.

Most of the ministers have already shifted their necessary and personal home appliances and documents from those residences. They will leave the houses immediately after their resignations come into effect.

The public works department under the public works and housing ministry will be handed over those houses after the ministers leave.

Officials concerned and some of the ministers confirmed the news saying that most of the personal home appliances and documents have already been shifted to their new houses. They are only waiting for officials notice.

Food Minister Abdur Razzaque said most of the ministers took preparation to leave their official residences after October 24, the beginning of the last 90 days of the present parliament.

The preparation was taken as they were not confirmed exactly when to leave those residences.

He said the ministers having no permanent residences in Dhaka had much earlier begun to look for rented houses. Even most of them have already decided on their next living places after their resignations.

According to the food ministry officials, Razzaque will back to his Lalmatia residence. He lived in that house before he was made the food minister. His house has been prepared.

Fisheries and Livestock Minister’s Assistant Personal Secretary Hilton Kumar Saha said the minister had already shifted his necessary personal belongings and documents to his own house in Dhaka.

Water Resources Minister’s Assistant Personal Secretary Partha Kumar Sen said the minister would shift his family to his personal flat in Dhaka. But mainly he would stay in Thakurgaon, the minister’s constituency.

“All of his personal belongings and documents have been taken to his flat.”
