A moderate earthquake jolted parts of northeastern Bangladesh yesterday, according to the Met office.
However, no casualty was reported till filing of the report.
The epicentre of the earthquake was at Barpathar in the Indian state of Assam, 389 km northeast of Dhaka’s earthquake observatory.
Met officials in Dhaka said only mild tremors were felt in Dhaka and other parts of the country though the earthquake measured 5.4 on the Richter scale.
This is the fourth earthquake in last four months that has occurred near the Bangladesh-India border.
