A 5.6 magnitude earthquake rocked Sylhet and adjacent northeastern areas of the country on Wednesday morning.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department official SM Mahmudur Hoque said: “The earthquake originating from Assam jolted Sylhet around 10:16am."
US Geological Survey reported, the earthquake struck Assam's Barpathar area at a depth of 43.4 kilometres.
No reports of damages were available in initial reports.
