Police have filed 16 cases on pre-hartal violence carried out by the 18-party men on Saturday.
Of the cases, 14 were filed under the explosives act, one under the arms act and another for beating police officer.
Most of these cases were filed under speedy trial tribunal.
Deputy Commissioner (Media and Publications) Masudur Rahman confirmed the news to the Dhaka Tribune.
The cases were filed with Mirpur, Kafrul, Darusslam, Tejgan, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Ramna, Paltan, Motijheel, Jatrabari, Demra, Kodomtoli, Shabujbagh, Shahjahanpur, Gulshan, Bhatara and Uttara (east) police stations.
