Bollywood girls’ fascination for motorbikes

Bollywood’s leading men have played macho roles on screen for a long time now. From action scenes to daredevil stunts and riding fast bikes, they’ve dabbled in it all. Not to be left behind, in the last few years actresses too have been experimenting with such roles.

To add to this repertoire, for some time now, heroines have been seen riding bikes as well.

In the past, Anushka Sharma rode a bike with Shah Rukh Khan as her pillion rider, in her debut film “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” (2008).  In “Golmaal Returns” (2008) and 3 Idiots (2009), Kareena Kapoor was seen doing the same. And though the actor loves bikes in real life too, she was reportedly quite worried while performing the stunts.

Then came Katrina Kaif’s chance to turn into a biker chick. The actor took away Hrithik Roshan’s breath when she chased his car on her bike in a scene in “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” (2011). She had reportedly said, “I learnt riding the bike within a few days before I shot the scene. That entire sequence took around three hours. I am ready to ride a bike on the streets of Mumbai now.” She will even be seen performing some stunts in her next release “Dhoom: 3” as well.

The last action heroine to have taken to the two-wheeler is Sonakshi Sinha. In fact, for “Son Of Sardaar (2012),” the actress took lessons from co-star Ajay Devgan on how to ride a bike as she was quite anxious about performing stunts on it.

And now, yet another actress is preparing to take classes to learn how to ride a bike.

Shraddha Kapoor, who will be seen opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Mohit Suri’s “The Villain” will ride a motorcycle in the movie.
