Two Bangladesh Archery teams will leave Dhaka for Chinese Taipei on Sunday to take part in the 18th Asian Archery Championship and continental qualifying test of the Youth Olympic Games 2014. The competitions are scheduled at Songshan District, Taipei City from October 29.
One team consists six members including silver medal winner of the recently concluded Islamic Solidarity Games Md Imdadul Haque Milon, Md Roman Sana, Mohammad Durul Huda and only female archer Mathui Pru Marma will participate in the Asian Archery Championship. Md Anisur Rahman is the team leader while Nishith Das will assist them as the coach. Bangladesh will play in the singles, team and mixed recurve event in the five-day meet. Uttara Bank Limited will sponsor the team for the Asian Archery.
Meanwhile, a four-member team including team leader Md Fazlur Rahman Mukul, coach Md Babul Mia, archers Prenonoy Murang and Hira Moni will participate in the Youth Olympic Games continental qualifiers. The tournament will also start on the same day and same venue, but it will conclude on November 4. Mousumi Industries Limited will provide the sponsorship money for the team.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Archery Federation Kazi Razib Uddin Ahmed Chapal, chairman, Jury of appeal and executive committee member Md Faruk Dhali will be the judge of the championship.
