Noted actress Sridevi might do a Hollywood film co-starring Oscar winning actress Meryl Streep. Sridevi is likely to star in a film, tentatively titled “Cowboys and Indians” and it will be helmed by Amy Redford, who is the daughter of Hollywood actor-director Robert Redford. "It is yet to happen, talks are on. We are still going through it," said Sridevi, who made a successful comeback on silver screen with Gauri Shinde's “English Vinglish” last year.
There have been reports that she has rejected Abhishek Kapoor's, “Fitoor,” that had a negative role for her.
When asked about the same, Sridevi was not willing to talk about the project. Her husband Boney Kapoor said, "We are not talking about it."
On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi are likely to unite again on screen for the sequel of their hit 1992 film “Khuda Gawah.”
“The script is being written for the sequel. It was one of the most loved films and we thought of bringing it back. We have given a one liner brief idea to Bachchan. We have got a positive feedback from him. Once the script is complete, we will meet him again and approach him for this film,” producer Manoj Desai said.
“Once Bachchan gives his nod for the sequel, we may go and talk to Sridevi as well about the film. There will be other actors also in the film from the younger generation,” he said.
The original, produced by Desai, was about an Afghanistan lord caught between love and revenge.
“We are working on the script, so we can’t reveal about the story line,” he said.
Shot in India and Afghanistan, “Khuda Gawah” was one of the biggest grosser of 1992 in both the countries.
If all goes well, the sequel might go on floors next year.
Both the stars were last seen together in “English Vinglish.”
