Riza-Rima’s Debut Album

The launching of the debut music album of singer siblings Riza and Rima has ushered a new era in the fight against audio piracy in the country.

Focused on Eid and released recently at a programme at the capital’s Dhaka Reporter’s Unity, the album, instead of being available in the open market stores, can be accessed through mobile phones, ATM cards and the internet from anywhere in Bangladesh. It can also be bought through the post office even in the remotest of areas of the country.

The songs are composed by renowned musicians Fuad Al Muqtadir and Faizaan Khan; and the lyrics are written by Abdur Rahman and Zia. The album is published, marketed and distributed solely by Independent Record Label Bangladesh (IRLB).

At the revelation ceremony, chief guest Milton Khandakar, a noted lyricists, said: “We wish that Riza and Rima’s songs will reach all the sections of the audience.”

Special guest Ruksy, a popular singer, said: “They have sung really well at such a tender age. People are bound to like their work.”

Singer Pathik Nabi, also a special guest, said: “With due respect to the senior artists, Riza and Rima should make their ways in no time.”

Another special guest Ashraf Shishir, a film director, said: “The musicians are the biggest sufferers when it comes down to piracy. Proper technological methods should be introduced to check piracy. IRLB’s anti-piracy initiative is the first of its kind in Bangladesh.”

The music videos of some of the songs of this album titled “Cholo Bodle Dei,” translated as “let us bring a change,” have been shot in different locations in Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet.

These videos will be aired soon in different television channels and also be available on the internet.
