All roads towards Gabtali, one of the major entry and exit of the capital, witnessed a heavy traffic clog Sunday evening as the home-goers began to rush for home.
Particularly, the city-dwellers who have hailed from the western and northern parts of the country, were to get on the bus from counters situated within the row from Kalabagan to Gabtali, and Shaymali, Kalyanpur, and College gate in between.
Many of the people have already left the city and the number of home-goers is on rise as only two days to go for the Eid, said the holiday-makers waiting in capital’s bus counters.
The number of the holidaymakers will continue to escalate in the coming days, they predicted, as the official holiday for Eid-ul-Azha will begin on Tuesday.
People, living in the capital for their earnings, at least visit their village home in Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha every year.
The heavy traffic jam compels the travelers, carrying big luggage, to get down from the bus and walk to the stations.
Bringing purchased cattle home was also adding to the traffic congestion as well.
The row of the buses almost stretched into the heart of the city and seemed to move slowly.
