At least four people were killed and six others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a human hauler in Naujor area on Dhaka-Tangail highway on Friday morning.
Three of the deceased were identified as Shumon, 35, his brother Faruk, 38, sons of Abdul Hye of Badugali village and Nur Alam, 42, son of Abdul Matin of Mahiganj in Rangpur.
Sources said they deceased and injured were all labourers.
Police sources said a Chandona Chowrasta bound human hauler collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction in Gazipur City Corporation’s Naujor area around 8:30am, leaving three dead on the spot and injuring others.
Later, locals rushed to the spot and sent the injured to Gazipur Sadar Hospital where Shumon succumbed to his injuries.
Police seized the truck and human hauler but the truck driver fled from the spot.
