This Eid, Dhallywood gears up for a new blast for movie-lovers with the release of “Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini,” in which two of the most in-demand actors in showbiz, Jaya Ahsan and “King of Dhallywood” Shakib Khan, will be seen romancing for the very first time. The audience is keen to see the chemistry of the sizzling stars.
The songs from the movie were released on October 5. Munni, Chandan Sinha, Nancy, Tasif and music director Shoukat Ali Imon and lyricist Kabir Bakul were present at the inaugural ceremony of the album release. Jaya Ahsan and Diti were also present at the programme.
With this movie, Jaya is heading towards a new inning of her career, since it is her “debut” in the archetypal commercial film.
“Dhallywood is really very different from the small screen. From costume to make-up, dialogue to set design, storyline to canvas – everything is poles apart. When I decided to work between these, I had to compromise in many cases. I felt like an alien for quite a long time,” the diva shared with the Dhaka Tribune.
She adds: “I learned to be loud, as everyone else delivers their dialogues in that manner. And the dialogue was atypical. I felt it was a modern and modified version of our folk theatre.”
However, the National Film Award 2011 winner actress says: “We the actors always criticise our film industry without getting involved in it. I decided to go for it, just to give a try and give my input as well to some extent. While shooting for the film, I was more into natural acting and I had to adopt some qualities and make adjustments. Basically, I have done an experiment and I am very hopeful about my film.”
Directed by Shafi Uddin Shafi, the story, screenplay and dialogues are by Rumman Rashid Khan. Kabir Bakul has written the lyrics and Shouquat Ali Imon is the music director. The star-studded big budget film is produced by Frindz Movies International and will release in approximately 70 cinemas.
Razzak, Diti, Arifin Shuvo and Mimo also acted in the film.
According to the director Shafi Uddin Shafi, Dhallywood may see new chemistry in terms of box office hits after the release of “Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini.”
“The romantic movie will feature some quality songs in fantastic locations in Malaysia and Bangladesh. I hope the audience will really love those scenarios,” said Shafi. “I have done a lot of hard work on all my films. I believe this effort will receive the same response as my previous films did.”
Rumman Rashid Khan, writer of the film, shares: “The story is about the bond of love between family members, other social relationships and responsibilities. It also has the element of a love triangle. The story is really very different and I hope that movie-lovers will be keen to watch this film.”
The film is about a man (Shakib) who is engaged to his cousin (Mimo). But he promises his grandfather that he will not tie the knot before he finds his missing aunt and uncle. In search of his missing relatives, he goes to Malaysia, where he meets a girl (Jaya) who is a UN employee. They become familiar with each other and Jaya helps Shakib find his aunt.
Shakib, appreciative of her companionship and help, falls for Jaya. To avoid him, Jaya gets involved with another man (Arefin Shuvo). In this situation, the climax of the film comes down between responsibility towards family, relatives and love affairs.
