Road accident killed a man at Bakerganj in Barisal on Monday.
The deceased was Abubakar Siddik, 45, union social service officer of Bakerganj upazila.
Witnesses said a bus hit Siddik’s motorcycle near Awliapur Emran Filling Station on Barisal-Patuakhali Road while he was coming back to his office from his home riding the motorbike around 10am.
Nurul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bakerganj police station, said a Sonali Paribahon’s bus plying on Barisal-Patuakhali route hit the motorcycle, leaving him critically injured.
Locals rushed him to Bakerganj Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
Police seized the bus, but driver managed to flee the scene.
The dead body sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for post mortem.
