Intrusion attempt: 46 held in Jessore

The members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 46 people from Sadipur border under Sharsha upazila, while they were trying to intrude into Bangladesh territory from India early Monday.

The arrestees include five children and 11 women, reports UNB.

BGB 26 Battalion Jessore Camp In-charge Lieutenant Colonel Matiur Rahman said, acting on a tip-off, a BGB team conducted a drive in the area and arrested them,

Sources said the arrestees claimed that they hailed from different areas in Faridpur, Narail, Barisal, Khulna and Bagerhat districts.

However, the arrestees were later handed over to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed regarding the matter.
