A mother handed over her drug-addict daughter to police on Sunday afternoon, after filing a case against her at the district chief judicial magistrate’s court.
The 14-year-old girl was charged with addiction as well as physically assaulting her parents and stealing money and valuables from their home, said OC of Kotwali police station Shakhawat Hossain, quoting the mother’s complaint lodged on August 29.
The chief judicial magistrate of Barisal ATM Musa issued an order to arrest the young girl.
On Sunday afternoon, she was traced to a local restaurant by her mother who then called police to arrest her.
The young girl was sent to a safehouse following a court order, said a Kotwali police station source.
