Bangladesh swimmer Anik Islam will start his World Swimming Championship campaign by taking part in the men’s butterfly event today in Barcelona, Spain.
The Navy swimmer wants to touch his best timing in the World Championship. Anik clocked 26.01 seconds, his best timing, to clinch gold medal in the last Bangladesh Games.
Other Bangladeshi swimmer Mahfizur Rahman Sagor, who bagged seven gold in the 8th Bangladesh Games, will participate in the men’s 50m freestyle on August 2 while only Bangladeshi female swimmer in Barcelona Mahfuza Akter Shila will take the pool on August 3 in the women’s 50m breaststroke event.
